‘Sarayu’ is a name of Sanskrit origin and often used in the Hindi language.

The name is derived from the Sanskrit सरयू (saráyu), which means 'air' or 'wind,' and from a feminine derivative of the Sanskrit root सर् (sar), which means 'to flow. In the book The Shack, Sarayu is the name used to portray Holy Spirit. Even in the midst of what appears to be a garden of chaos, Sarayu remind us that Holy Spirit is “creativity and life.”

These concepts align with the scripture which finds its self at the core of our work, John 3:8 (NKJV),

”The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

We go where Holy Spirit leads, to capture the stories of those who have gone unseen, and respond to needs that have gone unmet.

I believe the work we do is important. Without storytellers who capture and share the stories of those who are often silenced or forgotten, their voices would never be heard. My work in this area is either fully self-funded or funded through donations and other in-kind gifts. I would love to have your support in this work. Donations of any size are an absolute blessing.
